Astrum Assistance Alliance AG

Five major European aid organisations established the joint venture Astrum Assistance Alliance AG in 2008 in order to be able to offer aid on an international level. these organisations are Eurocross Assistance (Netherlands, The Czech Republic, Bulgaria), FIDELIA Assistance (France), Mobi24 (Switzerland), ROLAND Assistance (Germany) and SOS International (Scandinavia). The main office of the new joint venture is in Zurich.

Trendsetting
The partners to Astrum Assistance Alliance combine their forces in more than ten European countries. All in all, Astrum can dispose of an international network of more than 100,000 emergency service centres in more than 180 countries. All of the network partners are trendsetting in the market and occupy a leading position in their capacity of emergency centre.

International
‘Until recently, our five aid organisations could offer services to domestic clients throughout the world. With the establishment of Astrum, we can now also offer clients with international work activities all of the necessary services for their international end users’, explains Lex Mentink, chairman of the recently established public limited company and Managing Director of Eurocross Assistance. ‘The five companies wish to offer more services to existing companies on the one hand, while developing new business relations on the other.’

Advantages
Astrum is the organisation that brings these five aid organisations together in an international structure. This goes hand in hand with the following advantages:

- collective purchasing of (medical) aid services resulting in: the best service at a better price;
- collective international network activities and reduction of costs;
- use of one another’s international offices for activities related to providing aid and savings in costs;
- exchange of knowledge and adopting the best working methods back and forth;
- standardisation of performance within organisations on all levels;
- based on a single agreement, multinational clients are ensured of international aid throughout the world, in which use is made of the local (medical) aid structures per country;
- joint innovation and research regarding new (medical) aid products.

The five partners of Astrum represent a total of over 1600 staff members. Managing Director Thorkild Lykke has acquired valuable experience in his position as International Network Manager at SOS International.
